Actually, Apple has 2000 employees in their campus in Austin. These days it's probably second to Cupertino in # of employees. Cupertino has about 4000-5000. Apple took over EDS' old campus here about 3 years ago. It was the largest commercial real state deal in town since the .bomb at 250K sq ft. They're breaking ground on a 4th building at that site soon, and in the meantime they're renting some off-campus space. Much of Tech Support and all of Apple Store Customer Service is located there, as well as a good chunk of Finance and some Operations (where I was). Inside Sales is here, too. Many employees come to Apple from Dell, but few go the other way around.
