As mentioned, no amenities or even bottles of water. You do get a pair of uncomfortable in-ear earphones though!
Food is edible if you like small portions of meat or pasta with goopy sauce on them. Better to pick up a freshly-made sandwich at Au Bon Pain. Note that AA flights now have no pre-dinner drink service in Coach on flights leaving after 9 pm.
Some of us AA elites end up living in Coach as well (upgrades can be expensive with copays and not at all a sure thing on busy flights). But seat selection is better.
If you are sufficiently pleasant and a bit lucky, try to snag seat 30C or G, when you check in (they are held for airport assignment). Seats 31A,B,H,J are generally thought to be better, but reserved for elites (again unless you are lucky at check-in time).
