Is it worth spending 6+ hrs from Glenwood Springs to Denver at the start of February (when I presume most will be covered in snow)? I think the biggest hassle you'd be dealing with is the xfer from DIA (air) to DEN (downtown Union Station). Worse, on the return the EB Zephyr can be hours late from Oakland, CA - usually due to freight congestion on Union Pacific. I think this would be a big gamble on your part, judging the connection between the (often late) Eastbound train and your continuing flight from DIA.
How lucky do you feel in betting against "the House" (UPRR in Omaha)?

IMO the only way this would be workable is an overnight in Denver between the train and plane, as a schedule cushion. You may have the slack in your schedule to do this, you may not.
