Currently waiting for a C award seat to open on a Sunday night departure in March. In general, how's the load in C on this late night flight (around 11:00PM)? What are chances of the award seat opening up prior to departure? I am currently in Y, but paid for C in miles (confirmed in C on the way back)! TIA.

This may actually be on a separate thread. In general, CX has only very few business seats for upgrades or simply business class awards. However, seats may come up available close to the waitlisted date (remember to ticket the upgrade(s) before the ticketing deadline, or you will lose upgrades on both segments).
Your chance will be higher is if you have a Marco Polo status (or even Oneworld status), depending on the level. However, if you are a Marco Polo Diamond member, you can do a business class seat guarantee for yourself, even for an award/upgrade.
