I have a little over a day and a half in England coming up (arrive LHR around 10am from MUC the morning of Sat. 13 Jan and depart LHR for IAD around 16:30 Mon 15 Jan). Since I've already explored London and have very limited time, I thought I'd venture out to the country and hit a couple of easy touristy sites , and on that note booked access to the stone circle at Stonehenge for Sunday at 8am (the only time available in January).

I have not been able to find the approximate cost (GBP) of a taxi from Salisbury to Stonehenge early Sunday morning—if this is even an option. The W&D buses do not start until much later, which leaves rooming in Amesbury Saturday night or hiring a car as the only other realistic alternatives. Does this board have any suggestions?
