The reality is that YX and AirTran are distinct products. The cultures of the two airlines are not sufficiently similar to make this a good match. These two airlines would be better off staying apart. Nothing keeps AirTran from adding service at MKE and, when they get more metal, they should.
As I said before, I think an interesting partnership would be YX, Frontier and Alaska.

I've had good experience with Alaska, but not Frontier. Frontier's tourist bent reminds me of a tarnished WN. I've been forced to use them from time to time out of PHX and I actually found myself wishing that there was a WN flight that would have worked.

And I place AirTran about, oh...fifteen pegs below Frontier, so that says it all for AirTran for me.
For domestic carriers, there's YX and then there's the rest. I bulk my time on AA and US for free F UGs and int'l award travel. But I would give up on the int'l award travel in a heartbeat if I could fly YX and replace AA & US.
