On your way to Key West, I would recommend the tiki bar at Lorilei's Great sunset over the bay, great conk fritters. Mile marker 82, IIRC, on the left hand side headed down. Drink a Bushwacker or two if you are not the driver.
I would also second the suggestion of My Blue Heaven for breakfast in Key West. An event not to be missed. Pick up their fresh bread in the bakery while you are there.
