One time, in ORD, where I for some reason almost always have a tight connection, I just dialed United1 to check status, and it tells me "Your flight, UA XXXX, has been cancelled." I look at the departure screen and it says it's been delayed. I call back United1 (since the agents are always occupied... well, usually) and it tells me "United flight, UA XXXX, has departed at blah blah blah."... and I'm looking at the gate with the plane still sitting there with the gate info screen saying "delayed, now xx:xx..."

Who are you supposed to trust anymore? When I went up to the gate agent she tells me "ah, i was just going to update the screen. we dont know when this one's leaving yet..."


I thought they maintained a system where all the gate information was supposed to be updated "up to the minute"....
