But you're right that it may be the fog that delayed last night's CO4.

I was on CO4 on 12/20. It was a mechanical problem. The captain came ont the intercom shortly after we boarded to say that there was a problem with the "flight control system". After over an hour on board, he asked us to gather our belongings and go back into the terminal. He said that the flight control system had "failed several checks" by the maintenance staff and they had been unable to determine the cause. We stayed in the terminal several hours, then got on an alternate aircraft for the IAH-LGW flight. When we arrived in teh LGW area, we were placed in a holding pattern for about 20-30 min because of the fog.

The worst problems were at LHR, but there was definitely fog at LGW as well. The lines there today were very, very long!
