Most companies that stick with avis do so for one reason, best combination of price and service.
Hertz often outshines avis, on a macro level. But is often much more expensive. National is cheaper, but on a macro level provides less quality of service over Avis.
I dont make these things up, these are things that are often mentioned. One of the reasons most companies stick with avis through thick and thin is the back end agreements.
For one, if you have a national contract with avis and your rents are direct billed to a company account, on the back end, there are discounts and free rentals that are provided to the company that most end users have no clue about. Most end users want those perks for themselves. Avis gives them to the company, ergo companies are reluctant to leave without a real reason.
I, for one, provide much better service than the average avis manager. But then again, maybe thats why i am no longer there.
