zyxel ag-225h

my vote is for the zyxel ag-225h.

it looks like a usb flash drive, and it is both a stand-alone wifi finder and a usb wifi adapter for 802.11a as well as 802.11b/g.

it has an lcd display that shows the name of the network, the type of network (a/b/g), the encryption (wep/wpa/none), the channel number and the signal strength. it can also detect hidden ssids, but unfortunately, it just shows '(hidden)' instead of the actual name.

as a wifi adapter, it works on both macintosh and windows. it has an internal rechargable battery and recharges via usb.

my only complaint is that the lcd display lacks a backlight and it can be hard to see in less than optimum lighting.
