While covered extensively on another thread, I respecfully disagree with your contention. UA has chosen to use E+ as a revenue generator, rather than make it available as a "reciprocal" benefit to other airlines *G. NOTE that other airlines do NOT do the same for UA flyers.

What is going on at UA is that it is 1) Taking care of its elites, 2) Making money off E+ upsells/EPA program, and 3) Seeking to further revenue growth thru maintenance of the integrity of E+.
Why this is so difficult to grasp is beyond me.
