A lot of times there is no choice. I fly to SEA every other week.

The reasonable options:
- Connect in DEN, either UA or F9
- Connect in SLC, Skywest (I think) connecting to Delta
- Nonstop on WN, but it's one shot per day (evening out, lunchtime back), and I'd always have to do an extra hotel-night in Seattle (e.g., 3 nights to work 2 full days, etc.)

I'm not inherently anti-WN. If they were operating an 8AM nonstop out to SEA and a 4PM one home, I'd say miles & status be damned - I'm spending more time at home and less time on planes.

Since my interactions with regional carriers have universally been horrendous - especially during irregular ops - that leaves Denver. I picked UA over F9.
