one general observation on this thread -- as an nwa sliver, i have found award availability to be much better than it ever was on delta (where i used to be gold level). in particular, on flights to europe and hawaii.

this year, i finally was able to book a delta award ticket to hawaii with miles i have had on delta going back to the late 1980s!
