AA now agrees it is a valid fare and should have been honored in F. It was calculated using a valid fare differential. Although, according to AA, BA never intended it to be sold that way - ba.com or a BA agent would not sell it even if it showed up as a valid fare. The problem is in the BA fare, not aa.com as BA stated initially.
But, BA now refuses to respond to AA. AA is struggling with the EU rules (they offered 30% of fare paid where EU rules say 75% quite clearly). Now AA has gone back to their fare / EU rule expert to get clarification.
Meanwhile, I've flown the same fare twice SJU-JNB in F with no problem. Further evidence to me it is valid.
As for my letters and e-mails to BA - no response at all! I guess they treat EC Gold and partner airlines the same!
what a load of sh*t. Atleast AA is trying to correct the situation, when it really wasn't even their fault! BA shame on them. They should be kicked out of OW. What the hell is the point of an alliance if you don't cooperate?
