It may have been the mai tai in HNL^ , but the gardens are really nice, and the open air walkways in the airport are a nice change from cookie cutter mall-airports that all look the same.

In GUM, it may have been the fact that it was 100 degrees and 110% humidity outside, which made the over-airconditioned terminal feel like the smell of a wet dog. It also may have been that they made all the connecting passengers march through a back utility hallway to a folding table with one woman who needed glasses reading through the passenger list to check our names off, verrrrrrrry slowly, then letting us out back into the main terminal. But for some reason, they had duct tape strung up as a barrier down the middle of the concourse -- so that you had to walk all the way back to the first gate, then come back up the other side to get to the rest of the gates.

OK, it wasn't THAT far, and bad airconditioning is better than none. We managed to survive the horror

The GUM PC was tiny but nice for the 10 minutes we managed to use it after that!

As always, YYMV!
