Original post did refer to using miles for the vacation package, and I've always paid for it, but wanted to share that I've booked about 12 packages with them and have always been satisfied in the end. Once or twice I've had issues at the motel (not wanting to accept promo inclusions - trying to charge my credit card after I gave them the voucher) but AAVacations always made it right. You do have to know the terms of the package and take responsibility for getting what you deserve, but that seems to be a universal truth. All-in-all, very satisfied.^
