It ends by not reinforcing bad behavior. You were proposing that we instead reward and therefore reinforce bad behavior.

It is simple Psych 101. The more postive reinforcement you provide to a behavior, the more of the behavior you get. The kid sees that his mother's demanding and rude behavior is rewarded not only with compliance with her will, but also with a glass of wine. Kids will emulate their parents, especially when they see that the behavior they emulate seems to result in rewards.
