The new VAIO I saw was perfect in every sense, but it was massively overpriced, i figured at least $500 more just for the name, and thats a little OTT.
I love my Sony Vaio TX 670P/B. It's light, holds @ a 4.5 hr battery charge and fits perfectly atop a plane's tray table.

Funny thing is I didn't need/want the top o' the line DVD burner option but because they were more popular that model actually cost less than the Vaio with only a CD burner.

fyi, I hear the updated Vaio TXN15P/W holds a 9+ hr charge. Sweeeet....
