Yes, it should work as a repeater. I have D-Link's version of this (probably not as on-sale on the Linksys one), and I like it a lot. Because it uses a cord to plug into an eletrical outlet, it takes up slightly more room....but the cord means I can be more flexible with placement to try to get better range.
