My parents and I are scheduled to fly out tomorrow (12/22) IAH-LGW on CO4 6:55p. We had a 7 hour LGW-STN connection to Ryanair, so I thought we have a decent cushion. But London has severe fog the last few days and CO4 arrived about 5 hours late this morning.

I checked seat availability on CO34 4:00p tomorrow (12/22) on seatcounter.com, and it seems like they are 9s all across the coach fares. So, I believe we had a good chance of getting on that flight stanby. But I would also consider the $25 same-day guaranteed change at 1pm tomorrow, if I understand the rules correctly.

I also tried switching the flights on co.com right now, but it'd cost about $700 per person for change fees and fare difference. But I wonder if there's anything I can do before 1pm tomorrow to get us guaranteed onto CO34, but without paying an extraordinary amount? If I call the elite line, is there anything I can say to get them to change the flights for us today?

BTW, we are on cheap "T" fares.
