Passengers who want to get someone else's seat should trade something of equal value or be willing to accept something of lower value. They are selfish if they say "I order you to take this lousy seat, give me your good seat, so our party will not be inconvenienced."

The lady who wanted to be together with the kids should have gone to the back of the plane and said "I want to sit with my kids, do you want to enjoy a seat near the front?"

If she were a bit smart, she would get 3 aisle or window seats for her party then trade them for 3 seats in the back.
