Are you saying that you had two separate accounts, one in your name and one in your wife's name, and that you were able to combine them into one single account (presumably in your name)?

^ That is correct. We went from 2 AMEX cards on one AMEX account to 2 AMEX cards on 2 accounts, both depositing HHonors points into the same HHonors account.
