I think you're being very unfair to Ryanair by insisting potential passengers choose another airline. FR will not assist you if they are not legally obliged to do so, ie if your flight is cancelled because of weather, they will book you on the next available flight as a goodwill gesture, they aren't required to do anything else. Certainly my experience of travelling by other forms of transport indicates the same thing happens, why should airlines be any different? When it is Ryanair's fault, certainly where I handle their flights, they're a bit begrudging, but step up to the EU regulations. The majority of the time however, Ryanair are one of the most punctual airlines in Europe with the fewest cancellations. They offer a lot of service opportunities, you just have to pay extra for them, and with the majority of seats being quite cheap, why should they be included in the ticket price? Ryanair have also allowed more people to travel than ever before, why slate an airline that does this? Many routes they fly weren't ever offered, or were served poorly, by flag carriers 10 years ago. Fair enough if you've had a bad experience, but this isn't the experience of the vast majority of passengers, and I'd certainly suggest you gain a few flights on Ryanair before you slate this company completely.
And yes, this is after over 20 flights with Ryanair as a passenger, countless flights handling them as a passenger services agent and another 5 trips so far booked with them for 2007.
