Following on from my Non-Trip Report, I must insist that no-one ever ever ever books a Ryanair flight.

If anyone is considering it, can I suggest 3 rules of engagement:

1. Only ever consider FR for yourself. Never book it for you OH or friends or family. It's one thing for you to get stranded, but completely unfair to inflict this on anyone else.

2. Never give FR more money that you are prepared to throw away. The basic rule of thumb should be if you saw the amount of the ticket price in the gutter somewhere, would you care enough to stop and pick it up?. If yes, you are spending too much on a FR ticket. I suggest never giving FR more than 1p.

3. Never book a FR flight unless you have a complete back-up plan. You need to assume that the flight may not show up, and need to have an alterantive way of getting home. I would suggest keeping a car rental booking, or a one-way on a normal airline on hold, just in case.

Anyone would be extremely foolish to contemplate a FR flight, without following the above 3 rules. My best advice - avoid these rogues like the plague.
