I just did a dummy booking on the airfrance site and saw that it was indeed possible (at first all the seats in the front (eco-cabin) seemed occupied, but after adding my FB-number almost all opened up.
So my question now is, can you change your seat afterwards online in the "check-my-reservation" link?
