OK...well the headline is abit dramatic, but it warns of a suspected imminent collapse of the lava bench.

I am posting this for the few folks who might be planning a hike from the Kalapana side, which is totally unprotected and you will have no warning of where the bench begins and ends - plus you can get right up to the ocean entry and water, which is the last place you want to be if the bench starts to go.

So...if you're visiting the Volcano and hiking out from Kalapana - use caution and be aware that this could occur at any time.
