In 2005 I recieved a promo for a Sheraton Vacation in Cancun. After Wilma I called and they said that the hotel was being rebuilt and I would not be able to make a reservation until after the hotel reopened in 2007. I called last night and Sheraton Vacations said that Sheraton "will not have a hotel in Cancun in the foreseeable fortune" and Sheraton Vacations refunded my $256.88. Earlier this year I had called and Sheration Vacations said I could take 4 days at a Westin in California. I opted to wait until 2007 and go to Cancun. This time Sheraton Vacations said they "no longer had the association with Westin" and all they could do was make a refund. I had hoped to go to Cancun with what I thought was a good price but now I will have more flexibility and maybe get a package airline/hotel deal. My wife is turning 40 on March 1st so maybe I will surprise her. Any other suggestions on an affordable vacation to a beach for a trip around March 1st?
