OT: Security staff with a sense of humour!
Coming back from STN on Thursday night, i was in the snaking security queue behind three young ladies of what I think (from the accents and my inability to gague what language was being spoken) were Eastern European (possibly Russian) origin. We got to the security entry point at the begining of the queue, where all boarding passes were being checked before allowing people into the queue. The guy checking the passes then says to these poor girls "you're here on the wrong day! Your boarding passes are for flights on the 14th, but this is the 13th of December!". The girls who understand English very well from what i can see, start chattering amongst each other in their native tongue, then say "no, no - this is the 14th, it cant be the wrong date". At which point the security guy laughs, and waves them through (a little bewildered, but slowly realising they were having their legs pulled). They took it in good humour, and when i was having my BP checked by him, i laughed and told him that was just evil, but very funny!
I guess they arent all souless monsters on a massive power trip

PS - the shoes/no shoes thing at STN drives me nuts - they have a secondary scanner that is so hit and miss whether you are chosen to go through that I feel it's completely pointless.
