The website listing is not 100% accurate. Sometimes, accidents happen and a car becomes unavailble at the last moment. I can think of a few rentals were I have a reservation for a prestige, a Mercedes, corvette etc. and the branch didn't have the car to give me. Sometimes if I have booked a last minute rental I have had to call the branch directly to see what's available.

I also notice the website sometimes says "no cars for this rental" when they are almost sold out and the rental is short-term. The website is holding cars back for longer-term rentals, because cars do become available if I extend the length of the rental period.
