I got a letter in the mail granting me Silver Preffered status on a Guest basis until March 8, 2007 (Strangely I already just got to silver that day the hard way ).

The letter also allows for advancing to other preffered statuses until Feb 29, 2008 if enough flight activity is recorded between Dec 8, 2006 and March 8, 2007.

Fly 6,000 miles or 6 segements and earn Silver Preffered status
Fly 11,500 miles or 14 segements and earn Gold Preffered status
Fly 18,000 miles or 22 segements and earn Platinum Preffered status

I've done a ton of flying the month. Probably around 12,000 miles since Dec 8th, and I was already going to hit gold with what I've got scheduled anyway, but platinum would be a welcome bonus.

I wonder if the PQM bonus or "Everything Counts" counts for this. Probably not. I think there was a line in the letter about flying on qualifying USAirways paid fares.

For the life of me I can't figure why I was targeted...

Anyone else get this...?
