Just wanted to revisit this since the above information was incorrect.

If you're membership has expired and you wait until the 21st of the month any time after it has expired you will receive a membership good for 13 months and 9/10 days. However, if you membership has not expired it will only be renewed for 12 months.

I just finally got my cards in the mail and they said September 2007, although I was under the impression it would be October 2007. I called and they did extend it for 1 month for me. But basically, I needed to wait until October 1 so that it would be good until October 31 of the following year. So next year I'm going to see if I can wait to renew until November 21, which will then make it good until December of the following year.
