For a big, hearty, cheesy pizza, I'm partial to Filippi's Pizza Grotto in San Diego. There are several locations now but the original one in Little Italy is the best - don't be put off by the long line snaking out the door, it goes fast and gives you time to look at all the authentic Italian goodies in the deli section while you wait.
