Has anyone done this? Did you carry your desktop as carry-on? If you checked it in, how did you pack it?

Ive done this before in checked luggage. I even got the physical bag search from aduana on arrival in South America. No problems whatsoever. I did call aduana before doing it and they had told me that one cpu was permissible.
Be careful and check before going. I advise to both find written documentation and speaking with customs first. And if it is new make sure it doesnt look "off the shelf new" on arrival (no original packageing, stickers, etc).
