When I asked today (after failing to find any routings via AMS-CPT) whether the EZE connection is possible, the agent could not find anything. I will try again, as one should always call back after being told that something is impossible... But it may be that this no longer an option.
MANY agents seem to be unaware that this is (or has been in the past) a legitimate routing (USA - EZE - CPT). I would first try to find availability to EZE from the US. It is possible to find availability - but can be tough. I have found the easiest is to use Delta's or Continental's web sites and once I find availability THEN call Northwest. For example, using Delta's site as of today (Dec 15, 2006) it looks like there is at least one C class award seat on Delta from ATL - EZE on Oct 13, 2007 and from EZE - ATL on Oct 25th. It also appears Malaysian flys from EZE to CPT on the 14th and from CPT to EZE on the 24th. With that info - I'd call Northwest and see if they can get you seats on the Delta flights and the Malaysian flights. It should "cost" 120,000 miles + taxes round trip. BE AWARE - Malaysian may charge additional fees at the gate.
