Hmm, sounds like an interesting idea.

I don't think moving-walk is a fancy idea. If AirTrain extends to the pier, I would use it.
On the Manhattan side, it would attract me if I could park a car (or get off the sub), get boarding passes, and check my suitcases right there before getting on board the ferry.
