I think you're right. That's what they're talking about in the forum for HHonors, which always has a 12-month rolling qualification and a status year that goes through April: The top-level qualification is 28 stays, so if I stayed 27 times in Feb-Dec of 2006, and then stay one time in Jan 2007, I'm qualified for 2007, and 2008, all the way through April 2009. Sounds like the first qualification for MR works the same way.

I thought rollover would just be good for the rest of the year in which you made it.
So if you make 49 nights in '06 and made Gold with 1 night in '07 - then wouldn't you lose your status in '08 since you didn't get 50 nights in '07 and don't have 50 nights in the past 12 months?
Or do you just have to make status somehow in 07 and you get to keep that level in '08 no matter how you went about getting there?
