I once messed up not canceling by the deadline, but a phonecall resulted in the manager kindly waiving the fee. However, there is a nagging doubt in my mind that I actually did cancel correctly. The episode was during a flurry of hurricanes and my intended hotel was contending with Nola refugees. I cannot really be sure who made the error. Consequently, ever since that episode (of early senility) I have been keeping a cancellation log in my computer. The cancellation numbers eventually are deleted from Trip Planner feature on Hilton's website. And since there could be a lag before I review my credit card charges, I feel safer organizing and retaining my cancellation numbers. Also, I blame those darned OAXM promos.

The reservations do not reflect the OAXM code anywhere so sometimes I have had to cancel and re-make a reservation to be sure I entered the OAXM code. I wonder if other FT-ers think it unnecessary to save their cancellation numbers? @:-)?? anybody ??
