Yes, within Canada, you should be ok. I know I was working/flying with mine for a couple of weeks, and I asked Customs officer in Canada coming through one time from the US and they said, you can still use because it still counts as valid I.D and shows that you're a Canadian citizen. Going to and from the US, now though, I'm not sure they'd accept it. I know the requirement for travel to US with passport is coming to effect in January.
