Thanks - this was supposed to work in the old system for golds, and the AskBA article said to call the EC to arrange this. Every time I tried this, my request had to be referred to Seating and every time they denied it (and there were children involved).
I mention this as it was one of my complaints about the previous seating policy; all I asked was that that process worked as advertised.
