The OP is simply asking whether someone can pay to upgrade their ticket to a higher class of service via AA.com, as can be done on the BA website. The answer is no. Not only does AA.com not have a similar functionality (in processing changes online), they don't generally offer advance purchase of upgrades using money (short of buying up to the higher class by using the proceeds of the coach ticket towards a business/first ticket).
