I sort of notice from past travel that NRT-HKG is very booked. I once volunteered. I had to wait until the flight departed to be set up for hotels, vouchers etc.

But what ended up happening was they found a Business class seat. ( I was in coach) They called me over the intercom and gave me my boarding pass and I was the last person on!
