STandard reservations, non prepaid, can be picked up by anyone, or be changed via telephone for anyone to pick up.
The transaction will be in the new persons name.
Preferred reservations must be picked up by the preferred member. Not even a wife or a husband can pic up the car. a spouse can drive the car, no issues there, but the actual picking up of the car by rule must be the preferred member. I know i know, "i did it in such and such location" many times and all that.....but the strict letter of the law (and i still have paperwork, nationwide bulletins on the subject) says otherwise.
preferred reservations cannot be transferred because of the credit card attached. A preferred reservation can be transferred, at the discretion of a manager, but cannot guarantee the price will transfer.
scenario. You are preferred select and you have a mid size car rented. You cannot make the trip, another employee made the trip, the employee, can pick up the car, "with a logical explanation or reason" such as this scenario. However, that reservation cannot be used for you. A new one must be created, with the same AWD if you qualify for that AWD. If you do not qualify for that AWD, then you get the car at the rate that you qualify for.
Often they will just transfer the car and keep the AWD, but if denied, you have no appeal recourse.
