My response is simple. Fly on other airlines wherever possible and build up my status in another Star Alliance loyalty program. I'm done with the idiots at Aeroplan who take little bits away every year and dare to dress it up as customer benefit. There is too much lipstick on the pig already.
I don't know where I'm best to attach my allegience within Star Alliance but anything is better than perpetual disappointment at the hands of Air Canada and Aeroplan. They just can't expect to keep taking things back and expect to keep their best customers.
Ha Ha. Wait until the UA/CO merger and watch what happens to other Star Alliance programs. EVERY FF program is taking away benefits that were built up in more economically fragile times. Just watch what the Americans take out once that industry consolidates. It will take your breathe away. You all sound like AC union leaders complaining about the new competitive environment and the loss of security and benefits dating back to Crown Corporation times.
