Thank you kindly BETA...... I did as you suggested, with a slightly different tack. They e-mailed me this morning and said no I couldn't use it a day late. So I stewed (and posted here), and then just now I called them and used the alternate tactic of saying "well it expires on the 30th, and I'm trying to use it for the night of the 30th and it just won't work online" (I could book dates up to the night of the 29th online)..... and they let me have it with no further explanation on my part In my defense, I think its reasonable (as a newbie) for me to think that an expiry date would refer to check in (although I now know different from reading here!)

Thank you also to peteropny for answering my questions, FWIW: the T&C looked very much like FFN, although did not specifically discuss transferability. Thanks for the welcome too!
