Come on now. You are acting like DL gives this information for no other reason other than they hate MRs or something.

The government requests this information from the airlines. The airlines provide it.

I think the airlines do have a vested interest in keeping what the government considers persons of interest off their planes or at least questions/searched thourougly before they board. If they didn't they would be subject to lawsuits etc.

Can you really blame them for giving the info?

The real problem is the information the government is requesting and the reasons behind it. The airlines need to do it to protect their bottom line.
