Hello everyone!

So after some research, a lot of which involved Flyertalk generally and this GLBT thread specifically, I've put together our honeymoon trip (see below), and I just wanted to pass it by you to seek any last-minute advice about any must-do side trips, hip restaurants, hot clubs, or anything else that will make our trip unforgettably fun.

Only our flights (and Sydney hotel) are set in stone, the day explorations and side trips we can change as we go along. We're leaving in 48 hours, but I'll keep checking the website for your input. And if you have connections at these hotels, and can help us get breathtaking views, then also amazing!

Flight: USA-SYD-Christchurch

Day 1: Christchurch
Crowne Plaza Hotel (The George is lovely, but a bit too pricey at $400+ a night)

Day 3: Flight to Queenstown
The Rydges Hotel

Day trip to Milford Sound; half-day trip to wineries; active fun (e.g., whitewater rafting, etc.).

(Having read previous discussions here about Fox and Franz Joseph Glaciers, it appears that they're remarkable, but we made a conscious decision not to make a detour to see them.)

Day 6: Flight to Wellington
InterContinental Hotel

Side trip to Taupo; city fun; other local day trips.

Day 9: Ferry to Picton, Train to Christchurch
Crowne Plaza Hotel

Day 10: Birthday celebration. Hammer Springs spa???


Day 11-17: Morning flight to Sydney
Hotel: Westin Sydney.
Day trip to Blue Mountains; Day trip to Hunter Valley; Bondi Beach(?); city fun.

Day 18: Return afternoon flight SYD-USA.
