It's never guaranteed. If the plane they were due to fly goes tech., then they may send an older 777 - but this would be an exceptional circumstance.

However, I do think you need to chill out. You'll make yourself ill worrying about it too much

Although ICE is good, the older system is probably better than most other airlines. The service/food/drink will still be as good whatever aircraft you are on.
