IMHO there is more than a subtle difference betwn orangers and farnatchi . oranger has better proportions , generally better layouts and more " complete" ....the closest thing thing to being in a Hotel without being in a hotel...eg mamounia. it has an intimate feel of a mini palace , grand yet comfortable.

farnatchi on the other hand has more "modern" aspirations ala babington house ....and that was the ionly reason i recopmmended it ..as a contrast to the more "traditional " outlook .....

for a totally homely , intimate friendly enviroment ...it has to be Enija....

villas tamsna and its founder meryanne loumartin know s all tehre is to know about marrakech and is such a joy to be chatting to ...villa tamsna is in the medina and shw also has villas in the palmeraie ....sorry palaces ... havent heard or spoken to her for a while now but you could ask her for some tips.
