Most people are happy to pay a little more - for the BA card anyway - the old BA Amex was (free for the first year) but paying more got the customer the Premium card - .25 miles more per £1 - or a little more again, and the result was the Premium plus card, .5miles more per £1

also c/f the BMI cards - Free card earns 1.5miles/£ but the card with a £60 fee earns 2 miles/£
